As she was celebrating her 30th birthday, Kaitlyn Wolfe was also unveiling her newly remodeled interior design studio in Scottsdale.
Growing up in Pennsylvania, Wolfe was always interested in interior design and construction.
"I loved building things," said Wolfe, whose father is an electrical engineer.
As a teen, her bedroom became her interior design playground, around the same time she discovered HGTV, a home improvement channel.
But her parents tried to steer her away from a creative career into a more traditional career. So she ended up majoring in biology and neuroscience. But the call to interior design kept tugging at her. She moved to Arizona to work on her MBA. While she was working on that degree, she took a job with an architecture/design firm and then with a general contractor.
"I knew I was where I was supposed to be," she said.
Wolfe started Iconic by Kaitlyn Wolfe in 2016 on a part-time basis, opening her first office by the summer of 2020. She quickly outgrew that space and last summer moved to her 5,000-square-foot office at 16419 N. 91st St., Suite 100 in Scottsdale.
Now, Wolfe employs 24.
"It's been a wild ride," she said.
Wolfe's studio designs for residential and commercial clients including Inlay Salon, Sistr Studios and Risk Resource, all in Scottsdale. The firm also designed the offices of the Arizona Coyotes in Glendale.
Wolfe also received her general contracting license, allowing Iconic to offer interior design and general contracting, primarily serving the Paradise Valley and north Scottsdale areas.
"We are one point of contact through the whole process," Wolfe said.
She said her dad recently saw her interior design studio. "He was shocked and confused," Wolfe said. "Both my parents are super proud of me."
