Flagship Restaurant Group to open three concepts at Gilbert's new Heritage Park development
A new mixed-use development that started construction recently in downtown Gilbert has announced its first restaurant tenants, including two restaurants expanding from downtown Phoenix.
Flagship Restaurant Group, the Omaha, Nebraska-based restaurant company expanding across the Phoenix area, will be opening three of its concepts in Heritage Park — a 10-acre, mixed use project that will take up an entire city block on the southwest corner of Gilbert Road and Juniper Avenue in downtown Gilbert.
Flagship will open new locations of its Ghost Donkey, Palma and Blue Sushi Sake Grill concepts at Heritage Park. Flagship debuted Blue Sushi Sake Grill in the Phoenix market earlier this spring in Tempe. Ghost Donkey and Palma have been operating for several years on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix.
The three Flagship concepts will be taking up 14,000 of the 47,000 square feet of retail and restaurants space in Heritage Square.
Phoenix-based developer Creation has partnered with Crescent Communities to develop Heritage Park. Crescent will be taking the lead on the multifamily element of the center, which will include 288 luxury residences. Heritage Park will also have public square with water features, landscaping, public art and walking and biking paths.
"Bringing Heritage Park from vision to reality is a collaborative effort, driven by our exceptional development and construction teams, supportive town leadership and visionary tenants,” David Sellers, co-founder of Creation, said in a statement. “Together, we are committed to creating an iconic gateway into Gilbert’s Heritage District — one that enhances quality of life, celebrates local culture and offers an exceptional experience for both residents and visitors."
Heritage Park is expected to open in phases with the retail and restaurants opening first sometime in 2026. The multifamily units will be ready to move into in the spring of 2027. Future phases of Heritage Park will include a 125-room hotel, office and additional parking.
The Heritage Park project is being designed and constructed by LGE Design Build. Phoenix Commercial Advisors has been hired to oversee the commercial leasing.
Final Thoughts:
Downtown Gilbert continues to evolve, blending charm with innovation and Heritage Park is a prime example of that vision. The addition of Flagship Restaurant Group’s trendy concepts brings elevated dining experiences to an already vibrant community. With walkable public spaces, luxury residences, and a pedestrian-friendly layout, Heritage Park is more than a development. It’s a lifestyle destination. For out-of-state buyers, this signals that Gilbert isn’t just growing, it’s becoming one of the most desirable live-work-play hubs in Arizona. If you're looking for a neighborhood with both heart and momentum, Gilbert is worth the move.
