Apex Power Conversion has unveiled its new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Mesa, with plans to create 700 new jobs by 2029.

The Arizona-based renewable energy equipment manufacturer opened the 206,000-square-foot facility on May 19 in the Pursuit Park industrial complex at 3208 S. Signal Butte Road.

Apex Power invested more than $60 million in its new facility, where the company plans to manufacture high-performance power inverter units with the first batch slated for production in the first quarter of 2026.

“At Apex Power, we are relentless in pursuing our mission to develop and manufacture the most advanced power conversion systems — technologies that directly enable the integration of renewable energy and storage onto our power grids,” Jacob Marshall, president and cofounder of Apex Power Conversion, said in a statement. “It is a humbling honor to launch Apex Power’s headquarters and manufacturing operations in my family’s hometown of Mesa.”

Apex Power, founded in Arizona in 2024, is currently using its Mesa facility for customer engagement and product training ahead of its production ramp up. The company will employ 300 people at the facility with plans to more than double its workforce to 700 people by 2029.

Hiring for the facility is slated to begin in the third quarter, Jon Dunham, Apex Power’s vice president of sales, told the Business Journal.

Apex Power's Mesa manufacturing plant will complement its existing research and development and manufacturing operations in Spain, according to a company announcement.

Apex Power was founded by a team of industry experts with more than 15 years of experience in utility scale power conversion, according to the company’s website. The renewable energy equipment manufacturer specializes in utility scale power conversion technology for solar, energy storage and electric vehicle charging.

Company 'engaged in comprehensive search' for U.S. HQ

Apex Power engaged in a comprehensive search for its U.S. headquarters and manufacturing facility prior to choosing Mesa, Dunham said.

“Mesa was chosen for its conducive business environment, combining access to renewable energy resources, a skilled workforce, supportive policies, and robust infrastructure — all of which are essential for the company's growth and success in the renewable energy sector,” he said.

Valley economic development leaders praised Apex Power’s new headquarters and manufacturing facility, stating it solidifies the state's position as a hub for climate technology and alternative energy production.

“With a commitment to quality and reliability, Apex Power will manufacture high-performance inverter systems, strengthening the state’s power grid resilience to support the growth of our renewable and clean energy sectors,” Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, said in a statement.

Minneapolis-based real estate development firm Mortenson assisted Apex Power with finding a site for its headquarters at Pursuit Park, located within the Elliot Road Technology Corridor. Mortenson is the developer of Pursuit Park.

“A significant portion of Mortenson’s work is dedicated to advancing renewable energy, and Battery Energy Storage Solutions are one of the fastest-growing segments in that space,” Chase Gibbs, director of business development for Mortenson, said in a statement. “Our partnership with Apex Power Conversion on their Mesa facility reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, U.S.-based inverter and storage solutions — reinforcing our focus on building a cleaner, more resilient energy future for both our communities and our planet.”

Pursuit Park is an industrial building complex that spans 625,000 square feet across three buildings within the Elliot Road Technology Corridor — a burgeoning portion of Mesa where the U.S. affiliate of Toronto-based Aypa Power is planning to build a huge battery storage system.

Mortenson broke ground on Pursuit Park in 2022 and delivered the three-building complex in October 2023. The complex can potentially accommodate a fourth building based on demand, according to the firm’s website.

Final Thoughts:

Mesa, Arizona continues to rise as a forward-thinking city where innovation, infrastructure, and opportunity converge. Apex Power Conversion’s $60 million investment is more than a boost to the local economy. It’s a vote of confidence in the region’s future. For out-of-state buyers considering a move to the Valley, this development sends a clear message: Mesa is attracting industry leaders, creating high-quality jobs, and cementing its role as a hub for clean energy and sustainable living. Whether you're relocating for career prospects, climate, or community, Mesa is proving to be a smart, strategic place to call home.
